Swiftwater rescue trainees learn how to survive a scenario where a raft flips over in the middle of a raging river. Insider joined a group training on the Colorado River near Moab, UT. The scenario begins with participants simulating a scenario with an overturned raft. They must then use a combination of their paddle and the raft’s grab rope to flip the raft over, before assessing other dangerous elements that threaten the safety of the rafters.
